Campos Scholars

About Campos Scholars

Campos Scholars is the Campos Foundation’s signature four-year engineering college readiness program, designed to help first-generation students years before they submit a college application. Beginning the summer after their freshman year of high school, scholars participate in immersive summer experiences that combine rigorous academics, engineering design challenges, mentorship, leadership development, and real-world industry exposure. Each year builds upon the last, equipping scholars with the knowledge, confidence, and professional skills needed to succeed in college and future engineering careers.

The inaugural Campos Scholars cohort launched in 2024 with 21 students and will celebrate its first graduating class in 2027.

The Four-Year Journey

Each summer, scholars return to the Campos Foundation for an immersive learning experience led by university faculty, educators, Campos professionals, and industry partners. Through hands-on learning and real-world experiences, each year prepares scholars for the next step in their educational journey.

Academic Enrichment

Scholars strengthen their engineering and STEM knowledge through engaging coursework like chemistry and physics, collaborative learning, and college-level experiences that challenge them to think critically and solve complex problems.

Summer Bridge Experience

Every summer begins with EngiNEARme, the Campos Foundation’s Summer Bridge Program at the University of Colorado Boulder College of Engineering & Applied Science. Living on campus and learning alongside university faculty gives scholars an authentic college experience while strengthening their academic and personal confidence.

Innovation in Action

Scholars also spend time at the Inworks Innovation Lab at the University of Colorado Denver, where they receive hands-on training in emerging technologies, including laser cutting, 3D printing, rapid prototyping, and design thinking.

Who Becomes a Campos Scholar?
