Our Mission

The Campos Foundation exists to expand access to STEM opportunities for underrepresented communities and women.

Through education, mentorship, scholarships, and meaningful partnerships, we empower individuals to discover their potential and pursue their ambitions. From a student’s first experience with STEM to their first day on a college campus and beyond, we make sure every student gets the opportunity to build a brighter future. 

Who We Are

The Campos Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Campos Companies. Guided by the belief that the future runs on what we build, each Campos company invests 1% of its annual revenue to Campos Foundation to create stem opportunities back into the communities where we live, work, and serve.

Driven by the passion and commitment of Campos employees, the Foundation empowers our people to volunteer, mentor, and champion STEM initiatives in their local communities. Together, we are creating lasting impact and expanding opportunities across the United States and Mexico City.

Campos Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization.

The Heart Behind Campos Foundation

Denver native Marco Campos grew up on the west side of the city in what he often describes as “humble beginnings.” At just seven years old, he began learning the values of hard work and entrepreneurship from his grandfather Bill, a self-employed welder—lessons that would shape his future.

As a first-generation college student, Marco graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder’s College of Engineering with big aspirations but limited resources. At 30, he took a leap of faith and started Campos EPC in the basement of his home. What began with a small list of clients and strong relationships has since grown into the Campos Family of Companies, a multinational leader in energy and infrastructure.

Never forgetting the mentorship and opportunities that helped shape his path, Marco founded the Campos Foundation in 2015 to help open those same doors for others.

Today, the foundation is led by his sister, President Deanna Campos-Miller, continuing the mission of expanding STEM access and opportunity for the next generation.

About Marco Campos, PE

Marco Campos, P.E., is the Founder, Executive Chairman, and Chief Culture Officer of Campos Companies, a family of businesses delivering engineering, construction, fabrication, staffing, consulting, digital transformation, and energy investment solutions across North America. Since founding Campos EPC from his basement in 2005, Marco has grown the organization into a leading energy infrastructure platform built on innovation, entrepreneurship, and an unwavering belief that people are every company’s greatest asset.

A Denver native and first-generation college graduate, Marco learned the values of hard work, integrity, and entrepreneurship from his grandfather, a self-employed welder, before earning his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder. Those early lessons continue to shape Campos today—where bold ideas, relentless execution, and a people-first culture are at the heart of every decision. Marco is known for challenging conventional thinking, encouraging entrepreneurial leadership at every level, and inspiring employees to grow alongside the company they help build.

While Campos Companies continues to expand across North America, Marco considers the Campos Foundation to be his most meaningful legacy. Founded to create opportunities for underrepresented minority and female students pursuing STEM careers, the Foundation now impacts more than 18,000 students annually through SmartLabs, scholarships, internships, summer bridge programs, mentorship, and university partnerships. As the Official STEM Education Partner of the Denver Broncos, the Foundation reflects Marco’s belief that success is measured not only by what a company builds, but by the lives it changes. For Marco, investing in the next generation of innovators isn’t a corporate initiative—it’s the purpose behind everything Campos strives to achieve.

Outside the office, Marco is a proud father of four and is rarely seen without Larry, his Boxer and well-known office companion, who has become a beloved member of the Campos family. Whether launching a new venture, mentoring future leaders, or inspiring students to pursue careers in STEM—including recent speaking engagements at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)—Marco continues to lead with the same entrepreneurial spirit that started Campos over two decades ago. He believes the future runs on what we build—but the greatest thing we can build is opportunity for others.

About Deanna Campos, JD

Deanna Campos, J.D., serves as President of the Campos Foundation, where she leads the organization’s mission to expand educational opportunities and create lasting pathways into STEM for underrepresented minority and female students. Under her leadership, the Foundation has grown into a nationally recognized nonprofit that impacts more than 18,000+ students annually through SmartLabs, scholarships, internships, summer bridge programs, mentorship, and community partnerships. As the Official STEM Education Partner of the Denver Broncos, the Foundation continues to inspire and prepare the next generation of innovators and leaders.

A Colorado native, Deanna earned bachelor’s degrees in Journalism and Spanish from the University of Colorado Boulder before receiving her Juris Doctor from the University of Denver. Although she is a licensed Colorado attorney, her passion for education, mentorship, and community impact ultimately led her to dedicate her career to nonprofit leadership.

Growing up alongside her brother, Marco, in West Denver shaped Deanna’s understanding of the opportunities education can create and the barriers many students face. Today, she works tirelessly to remove those barriers by building meaningful relationships with schools, educators, community leaders, and corporate partners. She also serves on the Board of Directors for DSST Public Schools, helping advance educational opportunities for students across Colorado.

Whether she’s welcoming hundreds of students to a STEM kickoff event, celebrating Campos Scholars as they become the first in their families to graduate from college, or building new partnerships that expand the Foundation’s reach, Deanna leads with compassion, purpose, and an unwavering belief in every student’s potential. For her, the Foundation isn’t just about opening doors—it’s about changing the trajectory of lives, families, and generations to come. Outside of the Foundation, Deanna is a proud mother of four who believes the greatest investment we can make is in the next generation.

Hilary Arocho
Community Outreach Specialist

About Hilary Arocho

Hilary Arocho grew up in a single-parent home, where she learned resilience by helping her father raise her nonverbal autistic brother. As a low-income, first-generation student, Hilary transformed her challenging experiences into a passion for creating pathways to success in STEM for young people and women in underrepresented communities.

She earned a B.S. in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton, and joined Campos EPC in 2023 with a decade of experience in administration, continuous improvement, and business development within the utility sector. Hilary quickly connected with the Campos Foundation’s mission to introduce STEM opportunities to underserved communities. Her commitment to this cause has been recognized through multiple honors, including leading her office to become the inaugural recipient of the Campos Foundation Award in 2023 and receiving the 2024 Campos Women’s Initiatives Network’s Cultural Champion Award.

Driven by the desire to be the resource she needed growing up, Hilary is deeply committed to advocating for underrepresented communities. Her personal journey, combined with her educational and professional experiences, has uniquely positioned her to make the lasting impact she has always aspired to achieve. Hilary is dedicated to ensuring that all students, regardless of their background, have the support they need to thrive in STEM fields.

As the Official STEM Education Partner of the Denver Broncos, we work together to expand hands-on STEM and youth programs that inspire and empower students. We create personal connections between professional athletes and students while showing how STEM powers the sports they love. It’s a partnership that helps young people learn, grow and step confidently into their futures.

Big STEM Kickoff

Where future innovators take their first step.

The Campos Foundation’s flagship STEM event introduces K–2 students from underrepresented communities to the exciting world of STEM. Beginning in the classroom and culminating in an unforgettable experience at Empower Field, students participate in hands-on activities, live STEM demonstrations, special guest experiences, community partner exhibits, and take-home STEM kits designed to spark curiosity and inspire future careers.
